“A Moment of Art”
In this movement workshop, you are invited you to include yourself in a fun and simple art making process. We will begin with a gentle but thorough physical warm up that will encourage us to tune our attention towards what is happening within and around us, thus allowing us to move fully with ease and awareness. Improvisational structures and communication exercises, designed to highlight each of our unique gestures, postures, and expressions, will provide us with the material needed to generate a common movement vocabulary. As we then approach the space as a blank canvas, we shall bring clear intention to our movement choices, which come out of our shared language. It is very likely that as we practice awareness, inhibition, and direction within carefully defined boundaries, we shall uncover a meaningful work of art. This is art making for the fun of it. We are our own audience. All are welcome.
